Simple, transparent analysis

How it works

Step 1

Enter a U.S. stock ticker

Type a ticker such as NVDA, CEG, or VRT. The analyzer loads completed daily prices and aligns the stock with SPY for a consistent benchmark.

  • No account or email required
  • Completed daily data, not a changing intraday candle
  • Strict ticker validation and clear errors
Step 2

Read the stage and supporting evidence

The result explains the Stage 1–4 classification, shows every trend-template check, compares performance with the S&P 500, and adds available growth and theme context.

  • Seven visible pass/fail trend checks
  • Three-, six-, and 12-month relative strength
  • Revenue and EPS growth when SEC data is comparable

Methodology

How Stan Weinstein Stage Analysis Works

Stan Weinstein popularized a four-stage way to read a stock’s primary trend: Stage 1 basing, Stage 2 advancing, Stage 3 topping, and Stage 4 declining. InvestorWaves uses a rules-based daily-chart adaptation, with the 150-day moving average as a practical proxy for the 30-week average.

The result also checks price against its 50-, 150-, and 200-day averages, the direction of the 200-day average, position within the 52-week range, and performance relative to SPY. Revenue and EPS growth appear only when comparable SEC filings are available.

Results are calculated from completed daily price data—not generated by AI. This is an independent educational implementation and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Stan Weinstein. It is not investment advice.

Questions, answered

Frequently asked questions

Is the Stock Stage Analysis tool free?

Yes. You can analyze a ticker and view the complete result without creating an account or entering an email address.

How does the stage calculation work?

InvestorWaves applies deterministic rules to completed daily prices, moving averages, the 52-week range, and trend direction to classify a stock as Stage 1, 2, 3, or 4.

Is this the official Stan Weinstein method?

No. This is an independent InvestorWaves adaptation of Stan Weinstein’s four-stage framework and is not affiliated with or endorsed by him.

Why are fundamentals missing for some tickers?

Revenue and EPS growth are shown only when comparable SEC filing data is available. The technical stage result does not depend on those fields.

Is the result generated by AI?

No. The stage, trend checks, relative strength, and explanations are produced by fixed calculations and templates.

Is this investment advice?

No. The tool is for educational and informational use and does not recommend buying or selling a security.
